Company foundation
EuDiCo – EU Directives Consultancy – Your partner for compliance with EU regulations. With this aim in mind, EuDiCo GmbH was founded in 2008 from the predecessor of “Dr. Lutermann Gutachten und Analysen GBR” with two other partners. We are now an interdisciplinary team of experienced toxicologists, occupational hygienists, business people, biologists and biochemists. Since then, our range of tasks has also expanded considerably.
Our unique selling point
is the combination of regulatory know-how, chemical and above all toxicological expertise and knowledge of materials. In particular, questions regarding the exposure of consumers and employees, but also the environment (ecotoxicology) can be answered in a well-founded manner.
In addition to analytical work (chemical – biological – mycological), we also focus on issues such as the marketability of products, consumer products and chemicals, the authorization of biocides or cosmetics and consumer or employee protection. In addition to consumer goods and commodities, the products also include pharmaceuticals, food and nutritional supplements. We have already been able to support major food chains with consumer safety issues.
EuDiCo GmbH is a member of the German Society for Occupational Hygiene (DGAH) and has certified occupational hygienists. We are involved both nationally in occupational health and safety training and in the NAR Committee of the IOHA (https://www.ioha.net) for the mutual recognition of training by international member associations.
However, EuDiCo also supports various standardization committees by providing advice or active participation. Dr. Lutermann himself is active in three CEN standardization committees, one ISO committee and two working groups. These include ISO/TC181/WG10 “Safety of Toys Microbiology” and the standardization committee for mechanical toy safety. Among other things, Dr. Lutermann is also one of 8 members of the EU decision-making body CEN/TC 52/WG12 “Interpretations and proposals for improvements to EN71 standards on chemical properties”, which is responsible for “disputes”. EuDiCo has also contributed to other standardization committees, e.g. the one for drinking water analysis, with studies on pseudomonads in water meters. We have also carried out studies on work gloves to support standardization and derived limit values for chemicals.
EuDiCo GmbH has also advised the EU Commission several times on various limit values, e.g. in the EN71-3 toy standard or for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and has prepared three expert reports on harmful substances for the EU. We have also advised the Federal Ministry of Economics on the amendment of the Toy Law on several occasions.
In the past, we have acted as expert witnesses for the State Office of Criminal Investigation as well as in court and have answered forensic as well as toxicological and risk-based questions.
